    Utilization of ChatGPT on Agile Project Management

    This research-in-progress delves into the potential integration of Large Language Models (LLMs), exemplified by ChatGPT, into agile project management methodologies. The study outlines the promising applications, anticipated benefits, and inherent challenges of such an integration while emphasizing the importance of a balanced approach. Drawing insights from an extensive literature review, a conceptual framework is being developed to provide a comprehensive understanding of this integration, and empirical research methods will be employed for validation. The intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Project Management through LLM integration holds significant implications for both fields. In the context of agile projects, LLMs like ChatGPT offer diverse applications, from backlog management in Scrum and Kanban to assisting in sprint planning, daily standup meetings, retrospectives, pair programming, and more. However, the introduction of LLMs also necessitates careful consideration of their limitations and the essential role of human oversight to mitigate potential risks. This study places special emphasis on achieving a balanced integration that capitalizes on the numerous benefits of LLMs in agile project management. These benefits include improved efficiency, proactive risk management, enhanced collaboration, data-driven decision-making, and scalability. Nevertheless, challenges such as job displacement, privacy concerns, ethical implications, and technical complexities need to be addressed to ensure responsible and sustainable integration. The conceptual framework which is being developed through a synthesis of existing theories and identified research gaps aims to provide a structured lens for understanding the multifaceted implications of LLM integration. Empirical research methods, such as interviews, focus groups, and surveys, will subsequently be employed to validate and refine the framework\u27s practicality by engaging project managers, practitioners, and stakeholders. While acknowledging potential limitations, such as participant bias and contextual influences, this research strives to offer valuable insights for both academia and industry. By bridging theory and practice, it contributes to the evolving landscape of AI-driven project management. The study\u27s core objective revolves around fostering sustainable agile project management outcomes through the responsible integration of LLMs. By harnessing the benefits of LLMs and addressing challenges, organizations can envision a future where AI augments agile practices, leading to more efficient, effective, and ultimately sustainable project management approaches

    Measurement of sensitivity of different wave modes to subsurface defects

    Excitation of acoustic wave modes in a layered solid is investigated when the solid is immersed in a liquid. This is done by computing the reflection coefficient of acoustic plane waves at the liquid-layered-solid interface. Then, a method to evaluate the sensitivity of various modes supported in the layered structure to subsurface defects is introduced. The method involves insonification of the layered structure with a conical wave whose axis coincides with the defect. Since all the rays in the conical wavefront hit the planar interface at the same angle, it is possible to excite a single kind of mode in the layer. By adjusting the angle of inclination of the cone, it is possible to excite the modes selectively. Since the conical waves converge to a line focus at the cone axis, the excited mode will focus on the defect. By recording the reflected signal amplitude as the cone angle is varied, a curve is obtained from which it is possible to conclude the sensitivity of various modes to the subsurface flaw. The results of such measurements indicated that the generalized Lamb wave modes are more sensitive to subsurface defects than the Rayleigh waves. An imaging system which makes use of focused Lamb waves was built and the system produced images of very small subsurface defects

    Can Neutrophil-Lymphocyte Ratio and Lymph Node Density Be Used as Prognostic Factors in Patients Undergoing Radical Cystectomy?

    Objective. To assessment the role of preoperative neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio and postoperative lymph node density in predicting prognosis in patients undergoing radical cystectomy for bladder cancer. Material and Methods. Preoperatively, neutrophil and lymphocyte counts as well as neutrophil-lymphocyte ratios were recorded in 201 patients who underwent radical cystectomy for bladder cancer. Patients with an infection were excluded. Based on the pathology reports, the number of positive lymph nodes was divided by the total number of lymph nodes to calculate lymph node density. Results. The mean follow-up duration was months in patients without lymph node involvement and months in those with lymph node involvement (). Median lymph node density was 17% (4–80) in patients with lymph node involvement. There was no difference according to lymph node density lower than 17% and greater than 17% . There was no significant difference between patients with an NLR below or above 2.5 in terms of overall survival (). Pathological T stage was associated with survival (). Conclusion. In patients undergoing RC for bladder cancer, lymph node density and preoperative NLR were not found to be independent predictors of prognosis

    Effects of magnesium sulphate on liver ischemia/reperfusion injury in a rat model

    Aim: To investigate the protective efficacy of magnesium sulphate in a model of rat liver ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) injury. Method: 32 adult female Wistar-Albino rats (250 to 350 g) were used in this experimental study. Rats were divided into 4 groups according to liver ischemia and magnesium sulfate application methods. Group 1 (C); control, group 2 (M); magnesium sulphate, group 3 (I/R); liver I/R, group 4 (I/R+M); I/R + magnesium sulphate treated. The blood samples were centrifuged for the study of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase, prothrombin time (PT), international normalized ratio (INR) troponin I, total antioxidant status (TAS), total oxidant status (TOS) assays. The livers of the animals were removed at the end of the study and samples were taken for histopathological examination. Results: AST and INR values were significantly decreased in I/R+M group compared to I/R group. There was no significant difference in ALT values of the groups. Although not statistically significant, the TAS values were increased in I/R + M group compared to I/R group rats. In addition, the value of TOS was found to be lower in I/R + M group rats. In the histopathological examination, the mean values of apoptosis and necrosis were lower in the IR+M group compared to the IR group. Conclusion: The main finding of the present study suggested that magnesium sulphate pretreatment moderately decreased the liver damage through its anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant effects in a rat model of liver I/R

    The Treatment of Recurrent Urothelial Tumors of the Upper Urinary System and at Urostomy Site following Radical Cystectomy with Intraureteral Bacillus Calmette-Guérin and Cryotherapy

    Urinary bladder carcinoma is the second most common cancer of the urinary system. The recurrence rate in the upper urinary system (UUS) for urothelial cancers is around 3% following radical cystectomy. The followup generally consists of imaging studies and urinary cytology, although there are no prospective data on the frequency, the mode, and the duration of followup. In patients carefully selected according to risk factors, kidney-sparing minimally invasive methods (ureteroscopic procedures, percutaneous approach, and local drug instillation) appear as contemporary alternatives for low-grade and low-stage primary UUS. In this paper, we present the patient who underwent radical cystectomy with urinary diversion ureterocutaneostomy, was diagnosed with widespread bilateral UUS tumors and recurrent tumor at the urostomy site at active followup, for which he was given local Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) and cryotherapy, and was followed by disease-free for 2 years thereafter

    Global survey of the roles, satisfaction, and barriers of home healthcare nurses on the provision of palliative care

    Background: the World Health Assembly urges members to build palliative care (PC) capacity as an ethical imperative. Nurses provide PC services in a variety of settings, including the home and may be the only health care professional able to access some disparate populations. Identifying current nursing services, resources, and satisfaction and barriers to nursing practice are essential to build global PC capacity. Objective: to globally examine home health care nurses' practice, satisfaction, and barriers, regarding existing palliative home care provision. Design: needs assessment survey. Setting/Subjects: five hundred thirty-two home health care nurses in 29 countries. Measurements: a needs assessment, developed through literature review and cognitive interviewing. Results: nurses from developing countries performed more duties compared with those from high-income countries, suggesting a lack of resources in developing countries. Significant barriers to providing home care exist: personnel shortages, lack of funding and policies, poor access to end-of-life or hospice services, and decreased community awareness of services provided. Respondents identified lack of time, funding, and coverages as primary educational barriers. In-person local meetings and online courses were suggested as strategies to promote learning. Conclusions: it is imperative that home health care nurses have adequate resources to build PC capacity globally, which is so desperately needed. Nurses must be up to date on current evidence and practice within an evidence-based PC framework. Health care policy to increase necessary resources and the development of a multifaceted intervention to facilitate education about PC is indicated to build global capacity
